Tyler worked in higher education for 14 years. 4 years were spent at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA where he helped the institution reach record enrollment numbers through his work as a Student Admissions Coordinator in The Office of Admissions, and helped finish a complete overhaul of the school’s website, implementing a new web template while working on the Web Team for the Office of College Relations. During his 10 years at Clark College in Vancouver, WA he worked for The Office of Instruction and eLearning Department where his most notable accomplishment was leading the design and implementation of their first eCatalog (saving the college more than $30,000 each catalog cycle), and implementing their college-wide Diversity Plan as a member of the Cultural Pluralism Committee and International Education Committee.

Tyler demonstrated that he was a true “Jack-of-all-Trades” when he left his full-time job in 2014 to enter the world of real estate investment (while still balancing his work as a touring musician and freelancer), fully renovating a dilapidated 1930s Craftsman Style Bungalow and successfully acting as his own property manager for both his vacation rentals and long-term rentals.

He and his wife currently reside in Erlands Point, Washington where they own and operate the Chico Bay Inn
